“A Tour to the heart of the City”
Roxas City —– a small yet peaceful city in the province of Capiz, Western Visayas. Crowned as the Seafood’s Capital of the Philippines, endowed with such blessing of rich marine treasures and delightful people, the City of Roxas remained a humble City of modern ambiance and relaxing environment. Embracing a simple way of living but a continuously growing city which could be evidently seen from its hospitable plaza —– the heart of the City where visitors are openly and kindly accepted to experience the beauty and enchantment of the City.
Starting from its historical house of worship, the Immaculate Conception
Metropolitan Cathedral or the Roxas City Cathedral is a place where every Capizeño’s devotedly practice their Christian religious ceremonies to show their faithfulness and thanksgiving to the One who had been so grateful to the beholders of the place and who had made everything possible. The refreshing appearance of newly renovated and modernized church in sky blue image gives a unique ambiance and style resembling the color of the churchs’ name Immaculate Conception. Located at the center of the city, Roxas City Cathedral has been a witness of the history of the place since 1870-1877. Built by the sweat and blood of Capizeño’s who were victims of forced labor.
Adjacent to the historical church laid ahead its City Hall where the Office of the Local City Officials, the Mayor and Vice Mayor’s Office could be found. Glancing to its façade, gives you an authoritative type of building, yet, entering its prestigious halls gives an opposite ambiance of a very hospitable and nature acquainted City Hall.
Ang Panubli-on, a Hiligaynon term meaning guardian of precious things is the official name of The Roxas City Museum, said to be a water tank turned to a museum, was built in 1910. Memorabilia’s of well-known sons and daughters of Roxas City, collections of religious icons, artifacts and artworks are well preserved.
The Provincial Capitol, where all Government and Provincial Offices could be found.
Among them is the Governor’s Office and all province wide governing bodies in the Province of Capiz. Built a long years ago, the Provincial Capitol stood over years and had served the Capizeño’s all throughout the years. A simple but nevertheless elegant physique with its modernized yet old type of structural design gives a classy look of the building. Inside, a souvenir store could also be found that sells and showcases local quality and artistic products of Roxas City, Capiz as souvenirs and remembrance of the humble City.
These three structures are just a few of its landmarks that make up and give identity to the City of Roxas and the Captivating Capiz. All situated at the heart of the city, the main attraction of the place that rendered a significant role to the City people. The center area that has a very inviting atmosphere that’s enticing to explore and stroll by. Giving a great pleasure to its entire visitor’s, the public plaza provides a place of relaxation, fun and bonding while enjoying the beautiful views of the plaza. The City that has once been the Cleanest and Greenest City in Western Visayas as well as to the whole Philippines, visiting the place would be one way of being acquainted with nature for it offers an ambiance of rest and recreation.
Obviously, Roxas City is but a simple place, yet, it is something that every Capizeño’s are truly proud of. Reflecting the City’s simple and humble way of living yet emblazoned with strong characteristic, the City shows an optimistic way of aiming a more productive Roxas City, and a more Captivating Province of Capiz for all the years to come.

I never thought some of you could really create content. You have a very nice post here and unique too about the captivating features that you can find in Capiz and it makes me glad to know about this blog.
I wish that some of you out there would provide good content such as this from you but it seems that it is really very hard to come up with such quality so some would resort to copy other’s work. Nice deed!
